Most of our games are on the turf, with the exception of the game Sunday morning. Here are the directions for the Coast Guard field:
For easy access, locate the intersection of Kings Rd, and Keltic Drive, in Sydney River, which is the location for the Sydney River Shopping Plaza. There is also an Atlantic Valu Superstore located at the intersection as well. Take Keltic Drive across the bridge, and take the first right. This road travels along the harbour, and then inland, for approximately 6 km, until you reach the entrance to the Canadian Coast Guard College, which will be located on the right side of the road.
An alternative route is from the 125 Highway, which links Sydney to North Sydney. Travelling to Sydney, from North Sydney, pass the Point Edward, Leithes Creek and Balls Creek exits, travel south towards Sydney. Take exit 5, marked Sydport, and Westmount. Travel this highway approx 4km, taking the first right, to Westmount. The Coast Guard College is the first left.
Also, with the matter of a hotel. I'm sure some will travel back and forth, and some want a motel, so I have a block of 10 rooms saved at the Quality Inn at
560 King's Road. The only little problem is that with getting these 10 rooms, only 3 are non-smoking, the rest are smoking. I called around to a few places but they were booked. The cost is $80; if 7 rooms get booked; if not the price is $101.99 . If you are interested in booking a room you have to call before Wednesday Aug 29th. 539-8101. They are being held under Strait United.
